Front cover of a catalog for Cameron Amberg & Co, Stationers, Printers and Binders. Loose Leaf Manufacturers. 163 and 165 W. Randolph St., Chicago, Telephone - Franklin-3425. The cover shows all of this text as well as the central image of a woman in classical dress holding a quill and scroll. She is leaning on a pedestal that has a photo of the office building on it. At her feet are bound ledgers and other business blank books. There are clouds and a sunrise behind her along with hints of a rolling countryside and a tree. The whole is framed by a neo-Egyptian frame made up of pillars up each side with leaf designs as well as papyrus flowers and fluted designs. The top has a pediment spanning the columns where the name of the company is written. The whole is printed in darkish green and black ink.
I came across this while researching the printer, Cameron Amberg and Co. of Chicago. I'll be posting some threads about some of the contents of their 1918 catalog.
