This week, 6 protesters in Worcester enter the third week of their Crown Court trial, facing charges for protesting the dairy industrial giant Müller, to “Stop the Supply” as part of 2022’s Plant Based Future campaign. This is the first of six trials for the protests which took place at Müller Droitwich.
“Time and time again the role of animal agriculture is ignored in discussions around the unfolding climate crisis. Through our protests, we wanted to highlight the devastating role the dairy industry plays in not only environmental destruction but also as an industry that relies entirely on the exploitation of cows’ bodies.”
“These recent extreme weather events show us that urgent action needs to be taken in the face of the climate crisis. In 2022, we implored the government to support farmers and commit to rewild freed-up animal agricultural land and ocean as part of a programme of wildlife restoration and carbon drawdown, and these demands remain as relevant as the day of our protest.”
