Colorado-based Xcel Energy to Expand Solar and Energy Storage Infrastructure Amid Projected Surge in Electricity Demand
Xcel Energy and Louth Energy, two prominent companies in the renewable energy sector, are taking proactive steps to address projected surges in electricity demand by significantly expanding their solar and energy storage infrastructure. Xcel Energy plans to acquire over 3,500 megawatts of solar power and 1,500 MW of battery storage capacity, while Louth Energy is investing over $3.2 billion in a 2.1 GW solar farm paired with 835 MW of battery storage, set to be operational by 2026 and fully commercialized by 2028.
