Today I had a follow-up appointment w/ my Endocrinologist. After 7 months of treatment with #Tymlos & 1 month of treatment with #Strensiq, all is going well. I’m feeling stronger. No side effects. It’s full steam ahead! Surveillance blood work & DEXA scan will be done in 3 months. #HPP #osteoporosis

Hi friends, hours after my second dose of #Strensiq #hypophosphatasia #HPP, all is well. No symptoms or signs of a hypersensitivity reaction (reported in < 1% of patients). Nonetheless, I have my EpiPen at the ready (just in case). So far, so good… 🙏🏻💪🏻🦴

First, in my refrigerator sits over $200,000 worth of medication for one month, #Strensiq. Mind-boggling. Thankfully, due to solid commercial health insurance from my company and philanthropy from the pharmaceutical company, I will not have to pay one penny out-of-pocket.

More good news! My case manager at my specialty pharmacy confirmed that my commercial insurance carrier will cover my treatment with #Strensiq. Initially, my co-pay was $1,220 per month; but with the #Alexion OneSource co-pay program, my co-pay is now $0 per month. I'm sooooo fortunate. 🙏🏼

Good news, my friends. Today, I learned from #Alexion Pharmaceuticals ( #AstraZeneca Rare Disease) that I've been approved to start treatment with #Strensiq for #hypophosphatasia #osteoporosis. Soon, I'll learn from its distributing pharmacy the details on insurance coverage (hopefully, 100%). 🙏🏼

Thankfully, a specific treatment is available for HPP. My Endocrinologist offered a trial of replacement recombinant enzyme, called #STRENSIQ (asfotase alfa), which I’ve enthusiastically accepted.
