After its “guest performance” in the @forumwissen.bsky.social, #Sunrise_III ’s secondary mirror unit is back at #mpsgoettingen and has been integrated
into the #telescope. Cool selfies like in the right photo (taken without the secondary in place) are now no longer possible…. 😊 ☀️🔭

Yesterday, our balloon mission #Sunrise_III was featured on German radio: www.deutschlandfunk.de/forschung-ak...
Last summer, Sunrise III flew from Sweden to Canada to study the #Sun from a unique viewing position in the stratosphere – and returned amazing data.

This week is the last chance to see the exhibition “Sonnenansichten” at @forumwissen.bsky.social in #Goettingen. See the movie documenting our #Sunrise_III mission and real flight hardware from our stratospheric research flight to study the #Sun! More infos here: www.forum-wissen.de/sonderausste...
The Forum Wissen offered an amazing setting for the talk.
With some help, Achim Gandorfer shows the solar spectrum.
Explaining the Sun with just chalk and blackboard.
In today’s #ChalkTalk at @forumwissengoe , #mpsgoettingen scientist Achim Gandorfer took us on a journey through centuries of solar research and observations, ending with the adventureous flight of the balloon borne solar observatory @sunrise3 . Thanks for an amazing show!

It's #IMPRS Information Week: Earlier today we gave an online tour of the institute to the applicants for our IMPRS PhD positions. Unlike in other years, the tour included inside views of the clean rooms. They are currently hearing about #Sun #WeAreAllSolarOrbiter #Sunrise_III.
