We just had a fantastic morning session with our senior students on #SurreyVetPathRotation in #SurreyVPC at @SurreyVet. They prepared 4 excellent presentations for us, and we had lots of stimulating discussion after each of them!
What a week! Our @SurreyVet students on rotation in #SurreyVPC have had a baptism by fire, with 27 autopsies (I think…..lost count & don’t recall, offhand) over the past 2 days. @dr_marvinfirth is head pressing in a corner somewhere, & I’m staring at a wall.
Our 7th and final rotation of senior @SurreyVet students for this academic year has arrived in #SurreyVPC for their #SurreyVetPathRotation! An exciting and jam-packed 7 days ahead, with the fabulous @dr_marvinfirth & Dr Cecilia Gola!
Many thanks to @dignitypetcrem for dropping off some lovely Easter treats for us all at #SurreyVPC @SurreyVet! I can confirm they were much loved and have already been wiped out by the team!
We said farewell to Keith, yesterday! We’d dragged him out of retirement a few months ago, to help us in the postmortem room in #SurreyVPC at @SurreyVet with his extensive technical expertise. We already miss his great sense of humour around the place!

It’s just like old times—she’s back in her office! Dr @LauraSetyo is with us this afternoon in #SurreyVPC, ready to teach our lucky @SurreyVet students. Great to have her back, even if only for a few hours!
Today, our 5th group of @SurreyVet students on #SurreyVetPathRotation in #SurreyVPC gave 4 case presentations. Great attention to detail, lesion descriptions, & interpretations. And a fun title slide to show how much they loved working with us....or a reminder of Valentine's Day?
Only one lonely eyeball left on the cutting board in #SurreyVPC. @dr_marvinfirth will have to prepare it for histology later.
Well, after 3 weeks away, @dr_marvinfirth returned to #SurreyVPC @SurreyVet today! To maximise the chances of his return, we promised him cake for a late birthday celebration. Tasty treats were enjoyed by all, & I believe this was his first primate autopsy.
A sad day, today, as we say goodbye to Dr Bertie Phipps (left), from @fitzpatrickref! Dr Phipps has been with us in #SurreyVPC @SurreyVet for a couple of weeks. He confessed that he won’t miss the cattle postmortems, but he’s enjoyed signing out cases with Dr Josué Diaz-Delgado!
Happiest of happy birthday wishes to the fabulous @dr_marvinfirth — 21 today! He’s off partying at @RossdalesVets for a couple of weeks on an equine pathology externship, but we will enjoy cake at #SurreyVPC @SurreyVet when he returns.
Our 4th group of @SurreyVet students has just finished their #SurreyVetPathRotation in #SurreyVPC! They were great to work with, & @dr_marvinfirth (photographer!) kept them on their toes! They’re off to Public Health, now.
Well, what do we have here? Our wonderful new @SurreyVet anatomic pathologist, Dr Josué Diaz-Delgado is in #SurreyVPC! Landed Jan 4th & already tormenting @dr_marvinfirth & Dr Cecilia Gola at the ‘scope. We love him & are glad he’s here, but we know @TAMU’s @tvmdl misses him.
We pathologists don’t stop just because it’s Christmas Eve. We’re here in #SurreyVPC @SurreyVet right now, fielding urgent calls, especially ones with herd health and public health focus. Here’s @dr_marvinfirth in action in the postmortem room!

Exciting morning in #SurreyVPC at @SurreyVet! Expert baker & pathologist extraordinaire, Dr Borkowski @SHaemonchus, baked a mountain of ginger cookies for us. Apparently, her award-winning recipe. And @dr_marvinfirth has given the official seal of pathology approval.
The final day of #SurreyVetPathRotation in #SurreyVPC for our senior @SurreyVet students, today. They just wowed us with 4 great presentations. We heard about unexpected deaths in horses and cats, respiratory and GI disease in sheep, and rhodococcosis in foals. Great work, folks!
Hey! Guess what?! It’s the 2nd most exciting day of 2021! Our 2nd resident, Dr Cecilia Gola is here! She is now @dr_marvinfirth’s partner in crime in #SurreyVPC! She has already passed the @ACVP Phase I exam, & has just completed her PhD at the Uni of Turin. Welcome, Dr Gola!
