A large goal stands on an outcropping of lava rock. It has a gray back with black accents on the tail, a white belly, and a charcoal gray head. Its beak is striped white and black. It has a red eye-circle and red-orange legs and feet. It’s a very striking bird!

I decided to also do the alt of #gulls for #BirdOfTheDay today because I came across this picture I took of a #SwallowTailedGull in the #Galapagos. I think they are such a beautiful bird! #birds #WildlifePhotography #ECK

Breeding pair with chick of #SwallowTailedGull (Creagrus furcatus), the only fully nocturnal gull. Main breeding ground is on #Galapagos mainly on the eastern isles Hood, Tower and Wolf. Near-endemic breeding bird with a few pairs nest on Malpelo Island off the coast of Colombia.
