The once mighty Neptune yard of Swans Hunter. Became Associated Shipbuilders and nationalised in the 1960s. Thatcher sold it in 1987, failure followed. Briefly owned by Kvaerner, success came with Jaap Krose who ran the yard until the end in 2007.

The remains of Swan Hunter Shipbuilders

A river view of the sorry remains of Swan Hunter, Shipbuilders of Wallsend. Along with the passing of the yard, the entire landscape has changed from its heyday. The terraced streets erased, and the overwhelming feature now is the observation tower overlooking Segedunum.
