Dynamic tonal colour combinations are used to grab the attention. The colour palette is very calming; a buttercup yellow sunset/sunrise is reflected onto a pond surrounded by golden rushes on blue ground. Snow covers the opposite bank, trees and two houses are in the distance; one house is a small cottage with stone walls, the other is a grand mansion with many rooms, and in it's own grounds. Swans fill the skies and the pond. A young figure is silhouetted at the pond, his back to the reader. He is wearing a blue, green and red stripped bobble hat, a red backpack, trousers and a winter coat with a hood and a scarf. He is holding a pair of binoculars in one hand but he isn't looking through it. The title in gold foil across the top of the image is textured like bark, the authors name is just below the title in white font.
