Pope Francis approves 2028 Catholic assembly to evaluate synod outcomes Pope Francis has approved a three-year synodal process ending with a postsynodal ecclesial assembly in 2028, which will foster dialogue, Cardinal Mario Grech said.

“This process does not diminish the role of each Church in receiving and applying the fruits of the synod in its own unique way,” Cardinal Mario Grech shared.
