Palate: Sweet, chewy, dry all at the same time; chilli & orange chocolate, with bits of candied orange peel,

Finish: More chocolate orange, spice easing off...short, but building in warmth.

Nose: Immediate spicy nose, shoving my face in a box of Special K, malty grains, freeze dried red fruits, little spikes of red fruits. Back of hand, reveals a little meatier level, toffee popcorn.

Embarque
Palate: Dry, heavy burst of orange chocolate, mouth hold lets that develop so strongly, I need my M&S giant orange chocolate buttons. Tanins, but soft, not over drying. Second sip building a lovely chilli heat.

Embarque 57.7% abv

Nose: Oak and spice off the bat, dark chocolate, ground coffee, hint of strawberry jam, but good jam. Back of hand, touch of menthol, jelly oranges slices (80's thing)

Out of the three whiskies from the London Distillery tonight, my favourite by far was the Yesteryear rye whisky. It just hit the right spots for me, one of the best ryes I've had in a while. Embarque came second and then Ten Times Around The Sun third. All 3 were really banging though

Water reveals pulpy newspapers, eggy rye bready, green mukhwas, cinnamon twists and knots, crystallised ginger, dark chocolate raisins, lamb kofta with redcurrant jelly, Sudocrem, and a chicory coffee, milk chocolate coffee creams, ginger and rye finish. Delicious! #TLDCWhisky

More rye on the palate than the nose, it's a rye bread sandwich with sweet mustard on salt beef, gammon studded with cloves, paper bag with clove and aniseed balls, chocolate-filled jazz balls, dark chocolate-enrobed ginger and a salt buttered rye bread finish #TLDCWhisky

With water, the nose is fruitier – plums, cherries, medlars, sultanas, sweet rye, gherkins with peppercorns, sweet mustard, Rose's Lime Marmalade, blackcurrant and redcurrant jellies, dark chocolate rose and strawberry creams, and freshly hewn pine #TLDCWhisky

A rich amber colour, the nose is funky with ripe pineapple and cherries, overripe mango, horse sweat, freshly printed magazines, milk chocolate brandy truffles, dark chocolate-enrobed ginger, pumpernickel bread with whipped butter, and a piney Danish sauna #TLDCWhisky
