the libraries people remember from their childhoods. We evolved, we teach, not quiet, we do so much more than checkout books! Steam learning, computer programming, computational thinking, AI literacy, graphic design AND reading & books all in 1 week! #TLSkyChat

A8: I have over 400 students in my building, and I make it my mission to learn every name and reading interest. When I find THAT book for THAT kid, the look on their face is priceless. It takes a special person to remember what a kid loves, and that is what librarians do daily. #TLSkyChat
A8 #TLSkyChat when our HS seniors return to walk the halls just before their graduation they always visit the library & sit in the story area. They have such happy memories of the story area.
I've been working as a school librarian since 2000. To this day (even yesterday) a kid stopped me and said "I remember you from the library" and smiles. Sometimes the kids are in their 20s or 30s...to me, that speaks volumes. They felt seen. #TLSkyChat A8

I show up to every PTA meeting & let them know the goings-on etc. I get involved in other school wide events & invite the public library to join us for those!
