My Thursday was rather nice. I was #TWiMAdjacent on This Week in Microbiology with fabulous fellow #MicrobialEnthusiasts. We discussed two articles: bacteria helping corn fend off pests, and how some bacteria seem to reduce peanut allergies. Really brightened my day. @asmicrobiology @univpugetsound

I can suggest it to TWiM, but I am only #TWiMAdjacent, not a real member. Congratulations again!

Being on This Week in Microbiology warmed my dark microbial heart today. I'm not on every episode, of course (I am #TWiMAdjacent, not an official member). But I remain grateful for every opportunity to hang out with fellow #MicrobialEnthusiasts.

Yesterday was a #TWiMAdjacent session for This Week in Microbiology. It was so good for my microbial soul just to chat about bacteria and their strategies with fellow #MicrobialEnthusiasts.

Yesterday, I was #TWiMAdjacent once again. I had a lot of fun chatting about making yoghurt with ants (attention Manu Ramalho Sanchez) and finding artificial microbial communities to make chocolate (which is a product of wild fermentation). So nice to be around #MicrobialEnthusiasts!

I was #TWiMAdjacent about the much missed Elio Schaechter. I tried to discuss an article later, but I was stressed for time. The first part about Elio is so worth your time, as is the paper I discussed, about how archaea make enzymes that break down the bacterial cell wall!
