On #ThisDayInHistory in 2014, two #Cleveland #police officers responded to a call about waving a gun in a park. The caller noted it was a toy and the wielder a child. One of the officers immediately and fatally shot #TamirRice, a 12-year-old black boy.

After the shooting it was revealed that Loehmann, had been deemed an emotionally unstable recruit and unfit for duty as a police officer in the Cleveland suburb of Independence, Ohio, where he worked prior to joining the Cleveland Police Department.
