I just finished The South, without realising it's the first of four books. This makes me really happy, because The South is absolutely sublime. I've loved most of Tash Aw's books that I've read, but this is really special. Can't wait for the next one!

I really enjoyed #TashAw The South - set on a failing orchard in southern Malaysia, it features the Lim family after Sui inherits, particularly young Jay's developing relationship with farm worker Chuan. Many tensions, softly explored.
