Me explaining Tea Witches: “It’s a calm tea-brewing game.” Also me two turns later guarding ingredients like a dragon hoarding treasure 👀🫖✨ #BoardGameLife #TeaWitches #Tabletop
That moment in Tea Witches when you finally brew the perfect tea combo… and someone else snatches the ingredient you needed next turn 😭🫖 “Ah yes, betrayal… but make it cozy.” #BoardGames #TeaWitches #Tabletop

A cartoon witch dressed in a warm winter outfit. She has long, fluffy white hair, and wears a long blue dress with a double row of buttons across her chest and stomach. Her long, dark blue cloak has a fluffy grey fur collar, and both her boots and gloves are lined with the same kind of fur. A red scarf is wrapped around her neck, and an arch of frosty stars encircle her.

Day 24: Winter Tea (apple, orange, cinnamon)
The final witch of the year! We made it!
God jul, one and all, and may your straw goats burn merrily in the long dark of midwinter.
A cartoon witch dressed in traditional Chinese fashion. She wears a witch hat with long trailing veils, and she plays a traditional Chinese string instrument called sanxian. Her robes are white and saffron yellow, and the chest-piece of her dress is embroidered with flowers.

Day 23: Oolong
Every other witch I've made this year has been some manner of black tea blend - because I like black tea more than other varieties - but tieguanyin oolong makes the list because it's delicious.
A cartoon witch surrounded by a swirl of purple smoke. She smokes a long pipe, and magical smoke swirls from her fingertip. She wears a crimson dress with golden beading, a black hat, and a long black robe in partially transparent fabric. Her hair is black and grey and curly, like a cloud of smoke.

Day 22: Lapsang Souchong
my favourite tea I only drink a few cups a year of, because it tastes like a liquid forest fire (positive).
A cartoon witch, dressed in 1910s fashion. She wears a floor-length dress in shades of cream and caramel brown, with embroidery and lace in the shape of almond flowers. She has caramel brown hair with a few almond flowers decorating it, and there is a stylised branch of almond flowers behind her. In one hand, she holds a swirl of magical sparks.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition. #art
Day 21: Almond tea
This tea smells and tastes precisely like the almond cookies a local bakery sells. Every time I drink it, I get a craving for cookies.
idk, mom, all the cool kids are over #TeaWitches or something
((🥰❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥))
A cartoon witch dressed in 1920s fashion. She's a black woman with a feathered headband, turqouise bead necklaces and a yellow and orange dress, the skirt of which looks like countless overlapping flower petals. She is exhaling a swirl of magic looking like an art noveau swirl.

Day 20: Tippy Assam
The thing about getting into a hobby is that you start picking up extremely niche language as you go along, until you find yourself one day able to read TGFOP without stumbling and knowing precisely what that means
An elderly cartoon witch. She is a wrinkled old Chinese woman with a crooked back, long white hair and a gnarled wooden cane. She wears a long, loose robe with an ornately embroidered vest on top, and a wide-brimmed brown hat. Her clothes are in shades of cream, brown and blue. On her cane hangs a jade-green tea pot, and from it swirls a mass of steam that wraps around her.

Day 19: Pu'erh
I've only tried one variety of pu'erh, but the one I have smells and tastes so much like sun-warmed hay that every time I drink it I get launched back into being a 12 year old horse-nerd. It's a neat experience.
A cartoon witch wearing hipster fashion. She has circular sunglasses with dark blue lenses, a short burgundy jacket and a short sundress with flower and sliced orange patterns. On her feet are heavy black ankle boots, she has a pair of sheer burgundy tights with star patterns, and on her head the classic witch hat.

Day 18: Söder Tea (orange, rose, cornflower, sunflower, vanilla)
A Södermalm tea from my own stash, and a SoFo* hipster witch to match.
*( that's South of Folkungagatan, for the non-Swedes in the audience)
A cartoon witch with short, curly, cornflower blue hair. She wears a white peasant blouse and long white bloomers. Over that, she wears a patchwork skirt with slits in it: the inside is the pale yellow of the inside of an apple, while the outside is a mix of orange, brown, yellow and pale green tints, like the skin of an apple. She holds one apple - one red, one green - in each hand.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition. #art
Day 17: Apple Cornflower
Another one from the recesses of my tea cabinet, and this one bought from a local farm. It's got a nice subtle apple flavour, but I'm not sure what the cornflower adds to the whole experience other than being pretty.
A cartoon witch dressed in 1620s fashion. A black cloak with a big collar is draped over her shoulders, and her long dress is red and gold and cream, with embroidered decorations in the shape of flowers and heraldic lions. There is a feather in her hat. In one hand, she holds a sextant, and in the other, a fishing net with an amber-coloured glass float.

Day 16: Vasa Tea
Years ago, the Vasa Museum did a tea-blend based on something they had found aboard the wreck after it was salvaged. I've lost the ingredient list, but it has bergamot in it.
The witch wears 1600s fashion because that's when the ship was built.
A cartoon witch with blonde hair and blue eyes. She wears a red and blue outfit in the style of traditional Scandinavian folk costume, with a striped skirt, a long shawl and a laced-together waistcoat with embroidery. She holds a basket of blueberries, and is tossing one of them into her mouth.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition. #art
Day 15: Blueberry/Vanilla
so, weird thing happened today: the tea calendar I bought started just. repeating flavours it had already done? and that's both boring and bad for this art project
so I will be digging through my own tea-collection for every day it repeats
A cartoon witch with red hair and freckles. She wears a blue dress with a knitted wrap over her chest, and a dark blue Galway shawl draped over her head and shoulders. Around her neck, wrists, waist and ankles are gold Celtic jewelry, and in her hands she holds a steaming cup of tea.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition. #art
Day 14: Irish Breakfast Tea
That's the third breakfast tea so far, and hopefully it'll be a while til the next one. Skipped the customary hat and went with a Galway shawl this time.
A cartoon witch, dressed in an ornate Indian sari in red, gold and cream. She stands in an almost dance-like pose, holding her hands up in front of her, and in between them is a glowing anise seed, shaped like a star.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition #art
Day 13: Masala Chai
I did not know going into this how many variations on chai I would be doing - but as spicy teas are among my favourites, I'm not mad about it.
A cartoon witch dressed in a night gown, fast asleep under a cozy blanket and propped up on big, soft pillows. She wears a nightcap with the conical shape of a witch's hat, and in one sleepy hand she holds a grimoire with a fern pattern on the cover.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition #art
Day 12: Chelsea Breakfast Tea
Not sure what makes this tea particularly Chelsea, but my cat interrupted me halfway through drawing this and insisted I go back to bed so he could nap on me, which feels thematically fitting.
A cartoon witch wearing a Victorian blouse and a green saree. The saree is patterned with repeating stripes reminiscent of the terraced rows of tea plantations. She is drinking tea from a jade-green cup.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition. #art
Day 11: Darjeeling
green like tea leaves, white like the messy colonialist history that created the Darjeeling tea plantations to begin with.
... I should learn how to spell. #TeaWitches 2025 edition is what this should be.

Day 10: Kenya
As I've said before, single-origin teas are trickier to design for since there are fewer things in the, uh "brief" to work from. So with this one, I decided to look to Kenya's unofficial national bird - the lilac-breasted roller - for design inspiration
A cartoon witch, dressed in the fashion of the 1830s and a grey, pointed witch hat. They wear a waistcoat and cravat in purple and pale blue, long grey trousers held in place by straps around the shoes. Over this, they wear a coat with a narrow waist and a wide, bell-like bottom, as well as neat gloves. Over one shoulder they are carrying a walking cane like a wand.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition
Day 8: Earl Grey
went masculine 1830s fashion for this one. I didn't even have to exaggerate the coat: the fashion plates of the 1830s is filled with men with itty bitty waists and voluminous coat-skirts.
A cartoon witch, dressed in traditional Sri Lankan costume. She is chubby and round-faced, and wears beautiful golden ornaments on her forehead, wrists and decorating her hat. In the background is a stylised drawing of a blue water lily, a national emblem of Sri Lanka.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition
Day 7: Ceylon Tea #art
single-origin tea is almost always a bit trickier to design a witch for, since there are fewer things to look to for visual inspiration, but I think I managed alright.
A cartoon witch with red, braided hair. She is wearing a dress and shawl of a traditional Italian folk costume fashion. The outfit is black and red with embroidered jasmine flowers, as is her conical hat. She holds a bergamot orange in one hand and a sickle in the other, and she is surrounded by stylised jasmine flowers.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition! the dress is based more on some Piedmontese traditional dresses I found than Lombardian ones, as would be more fitting, but I liked the look, so.
Day 6: Bergamot and Jasmine. #art
A smiling cartoon witch in a flamenco pose. She is wearing a pink hat with a hibiscus on the hat band, and is dressed in a pink flamenco dress shaped like the petals of a hibiscus flower.
#TeaWitches 2025 edition. #art
Day 5: Hibiscus
the petals of hibiscus flowers look a lot like the skirts of flamenco dresses, so
A cartoony drawing of a pale, red-headed witch wearing a blue and pink cloak and hat. A pale pink tudor rose is pinned in her hair, with another at the belt of her blue dress.

Day 4: Rose
