Great win for Thunderbirds, and encouraging signs for Fever. Which teams and players impressed you the most this weekend?
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
Latanya Wilson a very deserved Player of the Grand Final. 7 gains, 5 intercepts, 6 deflections, 2 rebounds.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
Full time: THU 38-37
Thunderbirds win it!!! Fever led for much of the game, but Georgie Horjus seals victory with a goal in the final seconds. Now, can the Tbirds be the first TGC winner to go on and take out the premiership?
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
1/2 time: FEV 23-15
A great second quarter from Fever as they take an 8 goal lead into halftime in the final. Lots of unforced turnovers against Tbirds. Sunday Aryang has been great for Fever and Latanya Wilson for Tbirds.

Full time: SWI 51-49
What a game. Swifts win a thriller after a seesawing last quarter. Helen Housby sealed it with 2 crucial super shots. Swifts got all 12 players out on court, while Mavs made only 2 changes.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
1/2 time: MAV 29-26
What an exciting game. After trailing Swifts in the first quarter, Mavericks have put the foot down with an impressive 2nd Q. Amy Parmenter having a great game in centre.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
Full time: VIX 47-34
Vixens ran away with things in a dominant second half to comfortably take 5th place over Giants. Hannah Mundy and Kiera Austin both had strong games.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
1/2 time: VIX 18-14
A somewhat scrappy but entertaining match, with lots of changes of possession. Vixens doing just enough to gain a 4 goal advantage over Giants.

Full time: LIG 43-41
Exciting game, in the balance right till the final seconds, but Lightning comes out just on top against Firebirds.
Lara Dunkley suffered a hand injury (possibly a dislocated finger?) as the match finished. Hopefully, she's okay.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
1/2 time: LIG 22-19
An entertaining match. Lightning is in front, thanks to four super shots to 1. Liz Watson with 12 centre pass receives, 3 times as many as anyone else on court.

Full time: LIG 39-37
Another close one! Lightning comes from behind to grab an exciting win over Thunderbirds and get their first points of the tournament. Courtney Bruce and Shamera sterling-Humphrey both picked up 5 gains in just one half.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
1/2 time: THU 22-18
Tbirds doing enough to lead Lightning by 4 at halftime, epitomised by Hannah Petty's incredible dive over the Lightning bench!
Courtney Bruce having her first run in the tournament and coming up with 5 gains in the first half!
Calling it now, that Hannah Petty intercept is the highlight of the tournament

Currently analysing the important things. Like, do players use less fake tan for March matches compared to in July?

Full time: MAV 43-42
Another thriller. Mavs hold on to win a nailbiter against Giants. Tayla Fraser had a solid game for the winners, likewise, Price for Giants. Mavericks finish the pool games with 2 wins, Giants 1.
Any thoughts on the Parmy send off?
I don’t quite understand how it works in that instance…

1/2 time: GIA 21-20
Another good game with Sophie Dwyer nailing a super shot right on halftime to take the lead over Mavericks. Jamie-Lee Price is having her normal strong game for Giants.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
Full time: FEV 47-46
What a thriller! That last couple of minutes was crazy. The result could have gone either way, but it's Fever that gets the last second win over Vixens and it takes them to the top of the group! Jordan Cransberg had a great game.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
This is a ripper game. It's 34-34 at 3/4 time between Fever and Vixens with all to play for in the final quarter. Both sides have landed 6 super shots. Fever haven't missed from 2 point land.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
1/2 time: VIX 26-20
A good game so far as Vixens take a 6 goal lead against Fever going into half time. Kiera Austin is having a great game with 14/15, 4 assists and 3 super shots.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
Full time: SWI 49-45
What an entertaining game. Good performance by Swifts as they held on in a tight finish. Grace Nweke had probably her best outing for Swifts so far. That was also certainly the case for Mary Cholhok for the Firebirds. Encouraging signs for both teams.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
1/2 time: 23-23
This is a great game between Swifts and Firebirds, all square at half time. Definitely Firebirds' best showing of the weekend so far. And Mary Cholhok's best game too. Grace Nweke is also shining for Swifts.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
Full time: THU 50-39
A strong Tbirds performance. No matter who was on court, their level didn't drop. Not a poor player against what was an inexperienced Giants lineup.
Thunderbirds now with 2 wins in Group A while Giants and Mavericks have 1 each
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
3/4 time: THU 39-30
That Q was a bit better for the Giants. An interesting comparison in strategy here. Thunderbirds have used all 12 players whereas Giants are just making their first change as we enter the last Q.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
1/2 time: THU 27-18
Thunderbirds with just 3 turnovers to half time, compared to 9 by the Giants. They just look in control out there.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
1/4 time: THU 12-6
Thunderbirds up by 6 against Giants. No Shamera, no problem, as Matilda Garrett and Latanya Wilson combine in the circle for 4 gains in the opening Q.
#TeamGirlsCup #TGC2025
Full time: MAV 55-34
Mavericks with the highest score so far. They were very impressive, despite finishing with only one of their squad of 10 on court! Will be interesting to see who is their 11th player.
Lightning struggled with no Steph Fretwell.
