#TeamLaCava joined neighbors, SDPD Northern Division, & local partners at the PB Library for National Night Out. As part of a nationwide initiative, this annual event fosters trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve through meaningful, in-person engagement.

#TeamLaCava welcomed SDHS student Wyatt Spencer for a week-long job shadow. Wyatt attended a City Council meeting, staff meetings, community events, and received a rapid-fire training in constituent services. Thank you, Wyatt, for your enthusiasm for public service.
#TeamLaCava took the City’s "PUD 101” to learn how staff manage 9 reservoirs, 3 water & 3 wastewater plants, 131 pump stations, and 6,300+ miles of pipeline to deliver clean water to 1.4M people and treat wastewater for 2.2M. Grateful for our PUD teams who keep it all flowing.
#TeamLaCava visited San Diego Zoo Safari Park to see how this global leader in sustainability and eco-tourism restores habitats, protects endangered species, and inspires future environmental leaders. We also got to meet some incredible animals.🦒🐘🐅
#TeamLaCava staffers were joined by the Aaron Price Fellows at City Hall for a day of civic engagement. The students pitched ideas and explored how an elected office and its staff members serve their communities—an inspiring and rewarding experience for all.

#TeamLaCava toured San Diego Zoo and learned about the Zoo’s conservation work protecting diverse species and ecosystems. The Zoo contributes to San Diego’s tourism economy and is a global conservation leader. 🐝🐼🦁

#TeamLaCava rolled up their sleeves & joined PB Town Council Graffiti Busters to clear graffiti, stickers, & old posters around Pacific Beach. With scrapers in hand, they cleaned everything from street signs to newspaper boxes, leaving the neighborhood looking cleaner & brighter.
#TeamLaCava supported I Love a Clean SD for their 23rd annual #EarthWeek Creek to Bay Cleanup at Torrey Pines State Beach in Northern D1. Thank you to all the volunteers and organizers for helping to keep our waterways clean and our cherished beaches free of litter.
#TeamLaCava lunched with a purpose to support the LGBT Community Center’s #DOFLSD fundraiser, because everyone deserves access to compassionate healthcare. Today, participating restaurants are donating at least 25% of sales to The Center’s HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs. 🍽️❤️
#TeamLaCava staffers Joaquin and Julio attended UC San Diego’s 2025 Legislative Summit, where local, state, and federal staff convened to hear how the current policy and budget landscape is shaping higher education and research in our region.
#TeamLaCava hosted Francis Parker student Katie for a week of shadowing. Katie gained first-hand experience in the daily responsibilities of a San Diego City Council staffer—from meeting preparation and constituent communication to understanding the role local government plays in our communities.
#TeamLaCava volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Pioneer Programs of Ocean Beach to deliver meals to seniors & veterans in Pacific Beach. By providing meals & community interactions we are helping our seniors stay independent & thrive at home. A big thank you to all the organizers & volunteers.
