This fossil is a partial skull from an ancient sea reptile called an #ichthyosaur, which lived during the Mesozoic era. This particular type of ichthyosaur, #Temnodontosaurus, dates to ~195-180 million years ago (Early #Jurassic).

Two fossil ichthyosaur skulls and a Lego model of an ichthyosaur on display at the Lyme Regis Museum, Dorset, England.
Presenting two #ichthyosaur skulls and a fun Lego ‘life reconstruction’ on display at the Lyme Regis Museum for this #MuseumMonday. I got to see these #fossils when I visited for the annual fossil festival.
Both skulls belong to the ichthyosaur, #Temnodontosaurus, from the Early #Jurassic.

A Temnodontosaurus swims in a kelp forest. Temnodontosaurus is an aquatic reptile with a torpedo-like body plan, four flippers, and a dorsal fin on its back. Its tail is forked much like a shark's. The kelp makes the water dark and gloomy, and the animal appears to be turning swiftly through the kelp.
Really quickly knocked this Temnodontosaurus out in about an hour as though something possessed me. Not terribly concerned about accuracy, I just wanted the Vibe
