A sunny park with two large conifer trees flanking a tall tree stump with a small owl carved on the top of it. There is a hedge and building behind and a green lawn bisected by a footpath below. This is Stratford Park, Stroud, Glos, UK
#TenMinuteMerlin #10MinuteMerlin Stratford Park, Stroud, Glos, UK on a sunny Sunday morning at 09:45. This helped me to spot a nuthatch, which was a joy. An extra 3 minutes revealed greenfinch, goldcrest and grey wagtail!

Merlin results with downy woodpecker, northern parula, blue-gray gnatcatcher, Carolina wren, cedar waxwing, and northern cardinals.
I did my #TenMinuteMerlin! I concentrated on the parula, cause I particularly donβt know that oneβs deal yet. But you can see why my backyard got me into noticing birds.

I tried out @skwinnicki.bsky.social 's #TenMinuteMerlin thing at my home in Salt Lake and holy crap!!! What a great idea!! 10 minutes I can't use my phone to doom scroll and I re-learned the Robin's call that has made me so happy this week
Thanks for your scicomm and your approach to birding! I suspect your #TenMinuteMerlin posts were initially what got me sitting outside on a nice day just seeing who shows up, as opposed to trying to figure out a specific call. And Baton Rouge gives!

We walked a couple miles along the river this morning and heard/saw a great assortment. The Merlin app was workin' overtime! Heard 2 kinds of gulls, saw ducks flying, and watched a couple hundred pelicans doing their synchronized flying routine. π

Getting back on the #TenMinuteMerlin train
For the sake of heading off my brain with procrastination, #TenMinuteMerlin has been Going, nothing too out of the ordinary with 4, 7, and 6 species respectively but had a fun surprise when I went in for work to see big flocks above me and hear Greater White-Fronted Geese calling
