Managing cloud infrastructure with #Terraform is a pain. #Terragrunt eases the pain a bit while adding additional complexity.

But the real pain is that all other "alternitives" are worse than terraform 🙄

Yesterday I tried out #Terragrunt, a tool which allows re-use and chaining of #Terraform IaC, in this case on #AWS. After a lot of getting my head around things and somehow causing a panic in the underlying Go code, I got it working and was impressed with the results 👨🏼‍💻

4️⃣ Automated Testing: Use `terratest` or `kitchen-terraform` in CI pipelines BEFORE `apply`.

Yes definitely #opentofu for personal and new projects. Still #terraform and #terragrunt for projects that can't be migrated yet. The only thing I want to see in opentofu now is the s3 lockfile to avoid dynamodb.

I'm in the editing bay. ✏️ Things are progressing for my #Terragrunt revisited video 🎥. The original from 2020 was 15 minutes, and this one is clocking in closer to 45 😱. You could say it's a bit more thorough.
