Born 31 May 1939, cleric Terry Waite. He was the Assistant for Anglican Communion Affairs for the Archbishop of Canterbury in the 1980s. He travelled to Lebanon to try to secure the release of 4 hostages, including John McCarthy. He was himself kidnapped & held captive from 1987 to 1991. #TerryWaite
