New 'likely scam' tag for texts comes into effect A new 'likely scam' label will from today be added to text messages which mobile phone users receive from companies or organisations that have not yet registered with the Commission for Communications Regulation, in a bid to protect mobile users from falling victim to scams.

From today, any SMS sent from an unregistered sender will be labelled "Likely Scam" – and by 3 October, they'll be blocked entirely 🚫.

I just now received a text message from an unknown person, and when I clicked on message (not link) nothing showed up.
So, I immediately deleted and blocked that text number.
Always delete/block such scam texts without clicking links.
