I knew I had this photo of the Palace Square in St Petersburg somewhere, but took me ages to find it.
Was extraordinary to stand in the square and imagine the storming of the Winter Palace in 1917.

A year ago I was taking my mother home from visiting my dad in hospital in Greenock and we saw this honey on the Clyde. A couple of days after that visit he died, aged 94.
This ship contained the 1st ships engine he ever worked on as an apprentice engineer. Apposite
