One of the women I interviewed for #TheADHDBook about #ADHD and creativity (a chapter in my book) is now writing her own book on that topic.
This is what we mean when we say critical connections > critical mass.
Do the "small" thing. You don't know where it will lead.
Small is all!
chapter 7 in #TheADHDBook in metalearning is so fun. I'm getting there. Can't wait to share this with you all.
I'm also increasingly excited about #TheADHDBook, which I hope to wrap up this month. A big thread in the book is that our ADHDers are the creative experts of our world, and creativity is one of the most important skills we're going to need in this coming era.
She is printing #TheADHDBook in its entirety for the final round of edits!
FYI: #ADHD predates modern screen tech and its prevalence doesn't vary across cultures.

so many fun memories as I edit #TheADHDbook, like the man who told me that people with ADHD can't practice metacognition.
Draft one β
Hey #ADHD ers, you can write a book.

my favorite part of #TheADHDBook is probably in chapter 8 where I come out π₯ listing all of the research showing that ADHDers outperform non-ADHDers on creativity (shout out to so-called creativity expert who told me there was no research on this)

one of the wildest things that I just continually can't get over is that the #DSM definition of #ADHD not only does harm, it's just not at all accurate. it's just wildly bad. #TheADHDBook
"In short, the idea that attention is ideally single-pointed, and that ADHD is a deficit of that single-pointed attention, is, again, just an idea." #TheADHDBook #ADHD #AmEditing
I kinda want to put a big circle on the front of #TheADHDBook that says "Written by someone with raging #ADHD" like that might be more impactful than anything.
As I officially shift into editing mode, I wrote an update on #TheADHDBook here: learningenergy.substack.com/p/the-adhd-b...

Interviewing two folks who run a #HigherEd Neurodiversity Center this morning for #TheADHDBook. This is still quite rare, and I'm excited to learn how they got it started and keep it going.
#TheADHDBook update for those following along: first-ish draft done. I'll now print out each section and make analog revisions, then edit in the ms.
Definitely noticing a lot of resistance, but I know enough to know that it's normal.
