I experienced so many emotions while reading this story.. I was scared for Trisha, I was anxious; I couldn't stop reading because I cared. This story works so well because she is a sympathetic and likeable character; this was one of my quickest reads 😊

This also reminds me of "survival of the fittest." The things that happen to people are mostly random to a certain point. So we need to take care and not take anything for granted; think before we act because actions have consequences.

First sentences set up the atmosphere, the vibe, and the direction a story can go so they are very important. And in this story, that was the perfect first sentence. It meant to me that the world isn't fair and anything can happen to you.

I was very lost at times and I think that's what King wanted ... so readers can feel and empathize with Trisha. I even had to get out a map and try to find where she may have crossed from Maine into New Hampshire lol
