Thank you @forteanlondon.bsky.social for such a wonderful day of wildness, weirdness and warmth at #TheHauntedLandscape! Talks ranged from lost burial grounds in London to legend-tripping, taking in uncanny creatures and the wheel of the year in between. I loved it!
Scott Wood of @ForteanLondon assembled an amazing line-up for Saturday's #TheHauntedLandscape at @ConwayHall: @odavies9, @CeriHoulbrook, @MagicNotWitches, @IcySedgwick, @TheProfRog, Rachel Poulton, Jeremy Harte, @Mr_Mark_Norman & @jaylikesthings End-of-the-day piccie.

Me and @darrentite.bsky.social hanging out with the amazing @icysedgwick.bsky.social at #TheHauntedLandscape talks at Conway Hall.
This was fun: only one person dressed as a witch, with pointy hat, in the audience. Or was she really there? A few warlocks, too, with grey ponytails. #thehauntedlandscape ...

Bungay proving its weird credentials by featuring a 2nd time at #TheHauntedLandscape conference. First with Harte's noting of its church-ravishing devil dog. Now with @magicnotwitches.bsky.social telling of its alchemist Friar Bungay visiting cunning folk.
#TheHauntedLandscape has been a smorgasbord of delights, the devil, demons, ghosts, spirits of dogs and place, churchyards hidden or loreful, cunning folk and witchcraft. And there's still legend tripping to come, a favourite activity of ours.
Interested in the Black Shuck festival? The next one is July 31st- Aug 2nd 2026. Mentioned by Jeremy Harte at @forteanlondon.bsky.social's #TheHauntedLandscape blackshuckfestival.com

Image of a pale boy with eyes like dark holes and glowing central points in a brown monk hood. From the cover of "Monacello - The Little Monk" by Geraldine McCaughrean (Author) and Jana Diemberger (Illustrator).
Fantastic opening talk by @jaylikesthings.bsky.social looking at underground places and folk that lived there. Learned about the Monacello in Naples and realised I have seen the book (below) in our children's section at our library.
