Yes perhaps - though #TheLongSeason & #SheandHerGirls aren’t thrillers - they are proper dramas whose audiences are likely to be part female & part male (probably mostly female)

Come to think of it, I remember now that a Chinese friend of mine previously recommended #TheBadKids. The other ones she mentioned were #TheLongSeason (about recent history in northern China), and #TheLongNight. I’m afraid I haven’t yet taken up these recs (although I’ve seen some others of hers!)

Gosh where do I start with how the premise fell flat. I feel like the production had a real push-pull issue with wanting a serious thoughtful modern about death and mortality ( #TheLongSeason being the gold standard in my brain for that) and a whirlwind mature romance with a guaranteed happy ending.
