#TheNarrowRoadtotheDeepNorth was a pretty perfect mini-series but Jed Kurzel’s score really was a thing of beauty!

#TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth #PrimeVideo - The WWII parts focused on the Australian POW were quite harrowing and the actors gave brillant performances. The parts where #JacobElordi had an affair with his uncle's wife added no value. #CiaránHinds as the elder Elordi was brilliant.

absolutely wrung out by #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth. What an astonishing piece of telly.

Right. #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth. Very well made, great acting, grim when it needed to be. But…. all very surface level. Didn’t make me feel anything. Being a POW messed him up, but he was a nob before he was a POW? Maybe it works better as a book.

I have to switch the subtitles on. For much of tonight the subtitler had just had it with the love scenes and left it as: 'They moan throughout' #TheNarrowRoadtotheDeepNorth

A male soldier in khaki with a bag on his shoulder looks back at something as he walks under darkening skies.
It’s the cover of the book by Richard Flanagan with Winner of the Man Booker Prize printed below the title.
Sticker says Now a major tv series. So, this cover wasn’t the original one as it’s an image of the actor in the TV series by BBC.
The book is The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
Worth a read.

Anyone watching The Narrow Road to the Deep North as a TV series?
It’s like reading the book again. The characters are so well matched.
Richard Flanagan’s book was a brutal hard read.

I don't care about you falling in love with your aunt or having a bad time building a railway. Keep it in your pants! #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth

Ah look, is this whole show just about cheating on your girlfriend, becoming a prisoner of war, then cheating on your girlfriend who is now your wife? This ain't it, chief #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth

oh god I can't watch this #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth

Fun little casting twist in the otherwise not fun #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth - Jacob Elordi's girlfriend in it is played by Olivia DeJonge who played Priscilla Presley in #Elvis, the one that did NOT star Elordi

We're like 12 minutes into #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth before a normal sized girl has to go on her tippy toes to get near enough to Jacob Elordi's mouth that he won't have to bend entirely in half to kiss her

Well, it's a tough journey #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth #BBCiPlayer but getting there is salutary. And if there's a BAFTA for casting, it should be a shoo-in.

Interested in #TheNarrowRoadtotheDeepNorth - but had real difficulty hearing the dialogue. A lot of muttering, under strident music.

Just finished watching #Thenarrowroadtothedeepnorth a sobering insight. Reflecting, particularly with all that’s going on now, my father’s experiences of that war and how he moved on with kindness, forgiveness and dignity.

Don't know if this is a symptom of me getting older, but I've just had to put subtitles on for #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth as I can't understand a bloody word anyone is saying. Speak up!

Just watched that new #TheNarrowRoadToTheDeepNorth (what a faff of a hashtag) & my thoughts are it’s not my thing but Elordi is one of the most handsome men ever. Hinds elevates anything he’s in. That house, I’d sell my soul for it.

Loved it.

The Narrow Road to the Deep North – Jacob Elordi, Justin Kurzel and Ciarán Hinds discuss the screen adaptation of Richard Flanagan’s novel The Narrow Road to the Deep North is a savagely beautiful five-part series directed by Justin Kurzel charting the life of Dorrigo Evans (played by Jacob Elordi as a young man, with Ciarán Hinds as the older Dorrigo), through his passionate love affair with Amy Mulvaney (Odessa Young), his time held captive in a prisoner-of-war camp, and his later years spent as a revered surgeon and reluctant war hero.
