Lead guitarist in the British rock group The Beatles, Harrison also had a lengthy solo career after the band split up in 1970. And he worked on a number of projects including the Concert for Bangladesh and forming the band The Traveling Wilbury’s, with Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty.
In a 1995 interview for the Beatles Anthology, Harrison said of the fans, “They gave their money and they gave their screams. But the Beatles kind of gave their nervous systems. The fans used us as an excuse to go mad, the world did, and then blamed it on us.”
