The JBI Model of EBHC is circular representing evidence-based healthcare (EBHC) as a cyclical process. The wedges (Global Health, Evidence Generation, Evidence Synthesis, Evidence Transfer, and Evidence Implementation) provide JBI's conceptualisation of the steps involved in the process of achieving an evidence-based approach to clinical decision-making. Arrows indicate flow can be bi-directional. Outer wedges operationalise the Model's component parts to articulate how they might be actioned in a pragmatic way. At its core is considering feasibility, appropriateness, meaningfulness and effectiveness. This is represented by the words: Feasible, Appropriate, Meaningful, Effective at the centre, or very heart, of the JBI Model of Evidence-based Healthcare.
#JBIMethodology is underpinned by JBI’s unique approach to #EBHC
We consider evidence-based healthcare as decision-making that considers Feasibility, Appropriateness, Meaningfulness as well as Effectiveness of healthcare practices #ThinkFAME

The JBI approach to evidence-based healthcare goes beyond the effectiveness of an intervention. #ThinkFAME applies to the conduct of #EvidenceSynthesis using JBI methodology. Find guidance for conducting 8 different types of evidence synthesis go to: jbi-global-wiki.refined.site/space/MANUAL

Q: What's unique about this approach to EBHC?
A: We see #EBHC as decision-making that considers the Feasibility, Appropriateness, Meaningfulness, and Effectiveness (FAME) of healthcare practices #ThinkFAME

You could give yourself an overview in advance of the jbi.global/jbi-model-of-ebhc, but this is included in the CSRTP. Fundamental to JBI methodology for evidence syntheses is to go beyond Effectiveness (eg of an intervention), to include Feasibility, Appropriateness, and Meaningfulness #ThinkFAME
An editorial addresses a new approach to the role of FAME (Feasibility, Appropriateness, Meaningfulness, and Effectiveness) within the evidence cycle, using case studies drawn from implementation projects: ow.ly/qzuR50U4LZH

The JBI Model of EBHC is underpinned by JBI's approach to EBHC, ie 'FAME' - Think Feasibility, Appropriateness, Meaningfulness, and Effectiveness. The inner wedges, Global Health, Evidence Generation, Evidence Synthesis, Evidence Transfer and Evidence Implementation, represent: Global healthcare needs, as identified by clinicians or patients/consumers, are addressed through the generation of research evidence that is effective, but also feasible, appropriate and meaningful to specific populations, cultures and settings. This evidence is collated and the results are appraised, synthesised and transferred to service delivery settings and health professionals who utilise it and evaluate its impact on health outcomes, health systems and professional practice.
The JBI Model of Evidence-based Healthcare serves as a useful guide to inform academic and clinical organisations to practice evidence-based healthcare.
