The Irish Centre in Liverpool used to put on gigs in the 80s; the former Wellington Rooms building is still there at the top of Mt. Pleasant but has been disused since the 90s and is crumbling, alas.
Mel-o-tones were pre-Walkingseeds, I think.

My brother and I drove up from NC without tickets and found a pair for $350 each. Ran into Franco and Chiero who owned the best pizza joint back home. The Italian anthem sounded like it was sung in Rome. Hugged about 100 strangers after each Baggio goal. Good Times!

Ah, the Lyceum was a great venue.
Drove down from Norwich after scanning the Sounds gig guide and spotting who was 3rd on the bill, parked right outside, ran in (having bought tickets ON THE DOOR) and entered the hall to hear Moz say ‘Thank you and good night’.
