Mild temps, little chance of rain for Tigers' home opener
After getting hit with record rainfall earlier in the week, Detroiters can expect clear skies and mild temperatures for the Tigers' home opener Friday afternoon.
The National Weather Service hourly forecast projects a temperature around 50 degrees for first pitch at 1:10 p.m. That would make it the Tigers' warmest home opener since 2015 (not counting 2020, when the pandemic pushed the team's first home game into late July).
Skies will be mostly sunny with cloud cover increasing slightly throughout the game. Experts call for a slight, northeasterly breeze of about 9 miles per hour.
