Every change I make, I wonder if I’ll somehow damn you. What if you’d died to save the clan? How could I go on, knowing I’d killed you?” “What I lack in power I make up for in experience. I am a skilled mage and melee combatant and I doubt a plethora of lyrium-mad shopkeepers would have been enough to fell me.” “Fuck, you can be an arrogant prick,” she mumbles. “I’m trying to be vulnerable. To do what I know is challenging for you and offering you one of my weaknesses. I can’t lose you. Solas, I just can’t and I will do whatever it fucking takes to keep your heart beating. If that means I fail to change your heart, then…” she winces, hating herself for this declaration. “I won’t kill you. I suppose that means you’d win and get the world you want so badly. But,” she huffs a bitter laugh, “my husband told me he had no intention of surviving so I’d watch you burn the world to ash and I’d lose you anyway. Stupid of me, huh?”
