"Micro-Tina" microdwarf update. They're growing! I sprouted the seeds in ramekins of water, two weeks apart - and then transplanted the sprouts to soil, at the same time. I stagger my plantings, so that I always have tomatoes to pick.

There are a handful of varieties that look like they might match - so far I think Blue Beauty is the closest but I'm not positive. Is there a #tomatosky community that can give us a definitive answer? 😆

"Pa's Pride" is the most beautiful microdwarf I've ever grown. The glabrous leaves are quite a rare trait, in Solanum lycopersicon. One variety of my own breeding (selected from a serendipitous mutation) also has them!

Fat Frog (microdwarf) A variety that has lightly rugose, regular leaves.
"Hardin's Miniature" A young seedling with wide spreading, smooth, regular leaves.
Laura #5 A young seedling with an upright habit, with heavily rugose and serrated regular leaves.
"Orange Hat" A young seedling with an upright growth habit, that has heart shaped, smooth edged, rugose leaves. The foliage is somewhere between potato leaves and regular leaves.

For those who are visually impaired, all are young seedlings, with green regular leaved foliage (some rugose, some smooth). All are no taller than 7". None of these varieties will exceed 24".

Two green and gold tomatoes, striped with darker green, of medium size. The one on the left is Babylon's Glow, the one on the right is Lucinda. These are both green-when-ripe varieties. Same description for the second image.
The first ripe Blane Horton's "Babylon's Glow" (left), and Fred Hempel's Artisan "Lucinda" (right). I'll be weighing and cutting into these, tomorrow. These smell AMAZING, so I know that they're perfectly ripe.

A small, pleated, heart shaped tomato fruit, still green. It hangs among fine, wispy, dark green leaves. The plant's main stem runs up along a green stake.
A tall tomato plant, with dark green wispy leaves. There are a few flowers, and some small fruits, towards the top. The plant is growing up a long, dark green stake, and nearly reaching the high glass ceiling of a sunroom. The blue sky is above, and white vertical blinds are in the background.
I finally have fruits on my "Lucinda" (Fred Hempel's Artisan series - not the hybrid, of the same name)!
This is NOT a dwarf bush, though it is specified as such, by many seed vendors. This is a full size indeterminate. I love the wispy "carrot leaves."

A group of several oblate, pleated, saladette tomatoes, on a white glass cutting board. Some are ripe (the red ones), and some are not quite (the orange ones). The variety is a Russian dwarf heirloom, called "Vzryv."
"Vzryv" heirloom tomatoes, in various stages of ripeness. These look and taste different to the ones I grew in my greenhouse, last summer. It seems that lighting and temperature affects the fruit size and shape, as well as the flavour. They're sweet, with a mustard greens sort of bite.

A small, two week-old "Micro-Tina" microdwarf tomato seedling, growing in peat free potting soil, inside of a white coated ten ounce can. The seedling is light green, with two true leaves showing, between the cotyledons. The leaves are slightly fuzzy. "Micro-Tina" was specifically bred for growing on the International Space Station.
Teeny tiny "Micro-Tina"! She is approximately two weeks old.

Three large "Siberian Kiwi" tomatoes, which are light green, but they are ripe. The skins have a slight golden cast, when they're perfectly ready to eat.
Slices of "Siberian Kiwi" beefsteak tomato. They are light green, with a slight pinkish blush to the very centre of the slices. I wish that you could smell and taste this picture! 💖
"Siberian Kiwi" is an heirloom beefsteak, which is green when ripe. It is one of the best I've ever tasted! It has a tropical, sweet, tangy flavour, and is so juicy! The plant is a late season cordon variety, with regular leaves. It grows to be around six feet tall.

"Chernyi Aisberg" is a Russian heirloom tomato variety, with potato leaves. The fruits are a "true black" type, with green shoulders. The flavour is well balanced, leaning towards sweet. it has excellent yield and disease resistance. It did well in both cool and hot temps.

Slices of a ripe heirloom beefsteak tomato ("Adelaide Festival"), on a duck egg blue bread plate.
"Adelaide Festival" tomato, from last summer. This is my all time favourite all-rounder! It is a dwarf beefsteak variety, with a phenomenal flavour and yield. Highly recommended. The fruits are large, and pretty - deep purplish red, with metallic green stripes. Sweet, smoky, and fleshy.

Flower clusters of "Babylon's Glow" tomato. This variety has smooth, green, regular leaves, on widely spaced petioles. The blossoms are large and yellow, with 5 or 6 to each truss.
Wolf peach blossoms! These are the inflorescences of a tomato variety, called "Babylon's Glow." It is widely described as a dwarf, but my plant is already nearing seven feet tall. 😏
