An excerpt from the memoir, titled "Newspaperwoman," by legendary journalist Aggie Underwood: "On New Year's Day 1934, I was disappointed because the Record would not permit me to cover the flood in the Montrose area. The bosses said the story was too rugged for a woman. They overlooked the fact that I had been drenched through three changes of coats while covering the Tournament of Roses at Pasadena that morning. Nature, which usually shines on the tourney despite the advent of the rainy season, was rampaging that day. At the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, in the afternoon, Stanford's football team was zeroed in the deluge by Columbia's skillful seven points."

I was really sick when I rang in the new year so I’m watching the #TournamentOfRoses #parade now and I’m really disappointed in the lack of detail regarding the flowers on each float. We need gardeners covering this event like when HGTV hosted this parade. And we didn’t need the Bachelor guy.
