Knock. Knock. "Georgie?" I knocked again. She'd been in the bathroom for a while, and I was really confused. We had planned to head out 5 minutes ago, but she hadn't moved from the bathroom. We'd been taken advantage of, Mum and Dad finally letting the two of us out of the house alone. Since I'm 13 and she's 12, we could go out as long as we were together or with one of our siblings. Knock. Knock. "Georgie, are you in there?" I called out once again. "Mhmmm, Alex?" she called, and I perked up instantly, though she sounded not well. "Yeah, Georgie? Hurry, we gottaaa goooo. I wanna make it in time for the trailers!" "Um, Alex... listen, um, can you um get Mum for me please." She pleaded with me. It was starting to worry me. Why did she need Mum? We needed to go, but if she needs Mum, I'll get her. "Okay, I'll get her", I say as I head down the corridor. I really hope whatever is happening can get fixed. There's no way she could fall into the toilet? She is a little small... maybe that's it. It would make sense that she wouldn't want to show me. I wouldn't laugh at her, though! She's my best friend, I wouldn't do that. Wandering into the living room, thankfully Mum is just on the couch watching this house show thing. "Mum?" "Yes, Bud? Aren't you and Georgie going out to the movies?" she asks, looking at me. "We are, but um, Georgie needs you", I say. "Oh? Where is she, Bud?" "In the bathroom next to our room", I say. "Oh, okay," she pauses her show, "let's go check on her."

"Summer!" Mum called out from downstairs. I should have been down a minute ago, but this mirror kept distracting me. Just looking in awe at who I had become. "Summer, we need to get going now!" Mum yelled. "Coming, Mum!" I said, turning away from my mirror and scooping up my bag, and heading over to my textbooks. I had gotten all the news ones for High school, and honestly, that was an even greater relief than the uniform. Finally getting a new Biology textbook helped me move past that. That day, that book, that prison sentence. It had all brought a crushing feeling of hopelessness. Now there was hope. I still had that prison sentence weighing on my head, but hopefully, soon I could get on HRT. "Summer! Hurry!" Mum yelled again. "Sorry Mum, I'm packing my bag!" I called back.

#transfic Sometimes you write a line that's so crazy you say "what the fuck" out loud.
"Okay I've had enough! We are doing something today" Amber declared as she plops down onto the couch next to me. "We have two days of no life threatening event occurring and you get bored" I can't help but giggle. It's silly, and honestly I'm super down for it, but also I've enjoyed just laying about, both days, but maybe that's just cause I'm so used to not doing much. Though I highly doubt anyone would blame me, definitely at least Mum she highly recommended I just rest.

I really couldn’t wait to get home and fall asleep, though I really needed to get something to eat. After everything that happened with Dad, and now I had to go through so much with Dr Patterson, or Carol as she said I could call her. Honestly it had been terrifying at the start. She asked so many different questions about how I had felt. She did compliment me on my outfit, but then after that she started asking a bunch of different things. How did it make me feel? How did I feel when I wore boy clothes? After those questions, she started asking about my week. Talking about the week I’d realized how much I’d went through since my last appointment. I've gone out to the mall, got confronted by someone, told my sister, came to terms with everything, and then had to deal with everything at Dad's. It was a lot, and as Carol noted down things, I worried it looked bad.

I wish I could just leave her sleeping. My own daughter had been so distraught for so long. Sh'd cried her heart out and I tried my best to console her, and yet she still had seemed so broken. Thankfully as we drove she just settled into her seat and fell asleep. She'd become so peaceful, and I was so thankful to watch her seem at peace. I had turned the radio off and just drove, trying my best to not disturb her. Now that I was parked up on the driveway, I needed to disturb her. It seemed to horrible to do, she'd wake up and have to deal with the ordeal I sent her to. I'd thrown her to her father and this was the result. I shouldn't of sent her, but what could I have done. I needed to focus. I can't do this, Ray needs me. I couldn't not send her to her father. I had tasks to do, so that I could help her. All thanks to Daisy, we had a plan now. I was going to do my best for my children.

Coming back to a half day at work brought upon one of my worse days since getting my doctorate. The day trudged along quite slowly. Thankfully nothing to hands on but sitting in my office and handling paperwork wasn't what I needed to not think about what had already occurred today. Thankfully time never did stop and I was off of duty and down to a pub near the towns center.

I'd never had such excellent sleep. Usually, I'd squirm in bed for a bit, sometimes finding the duvet too warm or the mattress too scratchy. Tonight, I got in and barely produced a thought before I woke up in the morning. Waking up, I was greeted with such a nice memory. Before I showered the night before, I'd gotten a gift. One of Amber's pjs. I recognised it instantly. It was one of her favourites before her growth spurt a couple of years back. She even continued to wear it until one day she stopped wearing it. I guess she'd never actually gotten rid of it. It was an adorable pair of shorts that were smaller than any shorts I'd ever gotten, and a pyjama shirt that went past the shorts. The fabric was amazing, and once I put them on, I just had to go thank Amber. It was such a pleasant memory to remember. To be reminded after everything that happened. I'd made it. I'd be okay. I had Amber and Mum. It was really amazing.

"I kind of thought this would be your answer," I broke the silence, although I still couldn't look at him. My best friend, the person I'd been with forever, I didn't want to know how he looked at me right now. *He wouldn't look at me badly if I were a girl.*
