A closer photo of my artwork. It is a piece of pink material, hanging from a large, rustic stick. The material is embroidered with all the laws that have directly impacted lgbt people in Britain in the last 1000 years, going from top to bottom. The embroidery at the top is barely visible as the thread matches the material. The thread gets darker and more visible lower down, as we get to more modern times. The material is also printed with a range of lgbt symbols in black. They include an equals sign, gender symbols, lavender, a carabena and a pocket with a hankie coming out.
Earlier this year, I took part in an art exhibition as part of #transprideBirmingham. See my Instagram (@leo_joy_hg) for details if you're interested #queerart #lgbtart #transart #mixedmedia #embroidery #linostamps #linoprinting #queerhistory #lgbthistory
