New York Independent System Operator Prices Decrease Following Reduced Electricity Usage
A recent analysis of electricity prices within the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) and the New England Independent System Operator (ISO-NE) has revealed a notable decrease in locational marginal prices due to reduced electricity usage on November 21st. As a result, on-peak pricing in both regions decreased significantly, with Hudson Valley Zone G dropping $4.50 and NYC Zone J falling by $6.25 per megawatt-hour. These declines were accompanied by projected decreases in peak electricity demand and expected increases in solar generation, which is attributed to the approaching mild weather conditions for the respective regions.
