Just a marker in a very remote area.

I came across this exploring near the mouth of the Arawhata River, near the South side of the bridge.

Probably the kind of guy worth sharing a beer with, and worth remembering for his efforts. 🍻

The remains of Michael Collins' birthplace. Burned down in 1921 during the Irish War of Independence and later rebuilt (rebuilt may be an overstatement). It now sits in a peaceful, quiet treed area and today was under sunny skies.

The ruins of Ballinacarriga Castle sit on a hilltop, surrounded by trees. A mostly sunny sky was overhead. The interior is not open to the public (at least the public like me that generally doesn't travel with lockpicks to get through the padlock).

Down in County Cork today catching up on some Revolutionary history... the Michael Collins Museum, Michael Collins' birthplace, then a quick stop at a castle. And it did get warm today! 🥵

Day 1 of the #AnnapurnaCircuit was for us!
We enjoyed stunning views and meeting friendly "locals" (goats, dogs, cattle), while hiking 15+ km and gaining 800m of elevation.
