Hey #TrenchBroom and #Doom bsky, is there a tool that will convert or import Doom WAD maps into TrenchBroom compatible map files? Seems like the answer is no, and TB "importing" WADs is more for textures and other files?

In my free time these past couple weeks I've been learning #TrenchBroom. Eventually I want to get into making some playable maps for Quake, but for now I'm just experimenting and making more sandbox oriented environments.

Lesson learned: working without patches is *difficult*. :(

Did not successfully complete my entry for the 30th Anniversary pack, but I'm still finishing this, and will release it on my own as my own little celebration of Quake.

Anyone using #trenchbroom with #unity, I've got a question about vertex vectors.
In quake terms you need to orient 45 degree rotations carefully to prevent floating point coordinates on vertexes.
If you're using Trenchbroom for Unity does it matter at all for Unity's BSP importing plugins?

I wanted to get at least the interiors fully blocked out yesterday and that didn't happen, this would be so much easier if I had bezier patches! I'm so much more used to mapping in Doom 3

3 variants of a dresser made in 2024 in #trenchbroom and imported into #godot via func_godot. Drawers are individual components and were able to be animated separately.
The idea was to have multiple simple objects for quick prototyping and also be able to tweak them separately
