Seven or eight clusters of cherry blossoms are dangling down from the top of the image. In the background is a purple pink and orange sunrise with some out of focus buildings at the bottom of the image. They are so out of focus it’s hard to tell what they are. I think it might be the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum
A shot taken from the FDR Memorial towards the Jefferson Memorial. Even though it’s before 7am, there are lots of people under a canopy of cherry trees at peak bloom. It’s a harbinger of the insane amount of people who will later descend on the mall and trample people’s expectations of a romantic stroll trough the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin that is totally not undergoing major renovations to the sea wall.
Cherry blossom branches appear to be surrounding the tip of the Washington Monument and glowing from the golden sunlight through a break in the cloud cover. The monument is out of focus way in the distance. It looks small enough for me to pinch it with my fingers. I didn’t try though cos it’s all pointy
A pine cone sized cluster of cherry blossoms in the blue light just before sunrise. The field curvature of the Helios 44-2 58mm lens is causing the out of focus city lights to appear like lemons or yellow jelly beans underlining the flowers.
Peak Bloom sunrise at the Tidal Basin hits different.
