I really love this show. If you're not watching it, get this, it's only going to be five seasons, and I will vouch for the first four. They're all solid and great television. So, it's not really a commitment, at this point, more like a treat you could give yourself.

I'm fully sobbing, as I do at least once per episode.

That guy we're looking at is one of the front-facing showrunners, and is in all the BTS interviews and promotional stuff. I think he just intersects at writing and on-camera, so he's the most forward-facing, but I don't know whether that's indicative of it being, like, particularly his work or creative project. He's one of the ones responsible, though, and I think it's an interesting case study in how to write yourself into a show you totally control. It's never really about Jimmy. He's always colliding with, but tangential to, the concerns of the dual protagonists. Making him their agent is perfect, too, because their problems are his problems. This show works, baby!

But she's the assassin. I think, on a show full of really funny people doing really terrific work, Megan Stalter as Kayla Schaefer is the funniest person/character on this show. Consistently.

Jimmy: "Well, that was insane, but that's on me. I should never have let you be the Bad Cop. You be the Good Cop this time."

Kayla: "Okay. It's kind of an oxymoron, though. Fuckin' pigs."

Kayla is all kinds of fun. I like the cut of her jib.

Jimmy: "You're a director."

Director [sympathetically]: "I knowwwww!"

Also, bad-acting is hard to do well, and this was great bad-acting.
