i actually can't find any information about these "friends together" dolls except on the ebay listings where i found them. lauren and sadako are pictured here, and there are listings for two others named kerry and leila as well. they appear to be handmade montessori-type dolls with pretty, detailed clothing and yarn hair! they remind me of the cloth-faced doll kits made by glorex, bigger versions of the kathe kruse dollhouse-sized dolls, or an earlier version of bamboletta dolls.
when searching for cloth body dolls on ebay, i stumbled across this fascinating doll and immediately clicked to learn more. she's a "feelings and emotions" doll from lakeshore learning. these are still available for sale through their website with this description: "Introduce the concept of feelings and emotions with our adorable soft-sewn dolls! the oldest doll in the museum, by izannah walker. walker painted this doll’s face with house paint, which contained milk! pictured next to her is a handmade maggie bessie doll, named after the two nc sisters who made her, maggie and bessie :)
