It's easier to NOT hire someone than to have to try and fire them.

$1 BILLION for the Great Salt Lake.

President Trump has officially requested a historic $1B to restore and protect one of America’s most important environmental assets.

The Great Salt Lake fuels our economy and protects the health of millions. With real federal partnership, we can accelerate water flows, restore ecosystems, tackle invasive species, and address toxic dust. Now Congress must act.

We’re going to fill the lake. 🇺🇸

Trump's proposed 2027 budget is out and indeed includes $1B for GSL restoration projects. Also includes $1.9B/yr for 5 years deferred maintenance on federal lands

But also looks like it calls for cuts in WaterSmart grants and renewable energy programs #utpol

Utah will bid for nuclear fuel 'lifecycle' campus in Tooele County In a remote part of Tooele County about an hour's drive from Salt Lake City, Governor Spencer Cox announced plans for the state to bid on a nuclear fuel lifecycle campus here.

Many Utahns are worried about potential nuclear power so close the populous Wasatch Front. I can assure you the likelihood of experiencing a radiation event is negligible as most people will leave the Wasatch due to toxins from the Great Salt Lake. #utpol

Just spoke with Mike Lee. He’s leaning “yes” to the Attorney General job if offered. He likes the idea of leaving the Senate where he’s struggled to get anything done due to not trying, and he’s confident he’d sail through confirmation as most senators would love to see him succeed elsewhere. #utpol

Farming doesn't have to stop either! We just have to be way way smarter about how we do it. We don't lack the resources or techology, we just lack the willpower to tell a group of curmudgeons no. #utpol

“Agriculture is part of our heritage ... so we’re not actively pursuing or trying to push agriculture or people with private property rights out,”

The translation here is that we would sooner turn the entire Great Basin into a dessicated husk than say "farming this way was a mistake". #utpol

I don't know if Senator Mike Lee is interested in the open Attorney General position. I know he's quite comfortable getting paid a senator's salary as a full-time social media content creator. So we'll have to wait to see. #utpol

re: Control over executive Branch.

There is none.
In fact, you’re giving him everything he wants.

No oversight
No control over powers of purse/war

Yesterday was bad. Today is worse. Tomorrow will also be worse.

So thanks for nothing.

SALT LAKE CITY (April 2, 2026) —  UDOT is urging drivers to plan ahead for extended ramp closures beginning next week in Salt Lake, and weekend delays due to spring break travel in eastern and southern Utah.

UDOT is expanding the scope of the I-215 West Improved project to include 18 bridge deck replacements and repairs on 12 additional bridges, which will require extended ramp closures throughout the I-215 and I-80 interchange.

This spring and summer, every ramp within the I-80 and I-215 interchange will close at different times for bridge deck replacements. Crews will stagger ramp closures, so not all ramps will close at once, though some closures will overlap. Most ramp closures will last between 20 and 40 days, with many completed in about a month.

The first closure will begin Monday, April 6 at 6 a.m., and will close the ramps from Redwood Road to westbound I-80, southbound I-215 and northbound I-215 for approximately 30 days. Drivers should plan extra time and use alternate routes.

Then, in early May, the ramps from southbound I-215 to westbound I-80 leading to the airport, as well as the eastbound I-80 to southbound I-215 ramps leading to Tooele, will be closed for approximately one month.
