I will give her my property patch so she has my protection, but I’m not promisin’ anything beyond that.” -- Gunnar Gill He may be a little more than a decade older than her, but when it comes to matters of the heart and libido, his growth doesn't really go beyond his teenage years, before things went topsy turvy. I really like that they're essentially on equal footing, experiencing all their intimate firsts together. It's sweet and hot. This is a bit different from the other MC books in this world. The dark and gritty stuff happens early. I love that the rest of the book centers around them and family reunions. I do wish there was more. At the same time, I know this isn't the last I'll see of this couple and their families. It's bittersweet, to say the least. I enjoyed Umi Markkanen, the narrator. (Book review) Starting Over Being groomed by her foster parents for a man in the church is still grooming. I was so happy to see Elena Vargas make her own path. Although, the fact that she felt like she had to run away as an adult was sad. She's insanely naive, but I like how even when she struggles against what she grew up with, she finds a way to move forward. I laughed when she pulled a book out while at a party at the clubhouse. 😆 It's the kind of thing I'd do if the scene wasn't what I expected or enjoyed. -- book quote I'd never felt so confused and yet certain at the same time. He left me reeling, but I knew I wanted what he was offering. -- Elena Vargas I loved getting Noah "Outlaw" Borden's story and seeing him get his HEA after everything that happened in Wire's book (prior reading not required, but might be helpful). It's sad to see the impact to his "usefulness" to the club, but it's also one of the most realistic aspects of this incredibly over-the-top tale. He comes across as quite the alpha🕳 on a few occasions, but it's apparent that he is more teddy bear and fierce protector than anything else when it comes to Elena. (Book review) Feeling It As Lemon settles into her new role, my complete entertainment with this young woman continues to grow. Even when she finds herself in WAY over her head. She's quite the force to be reckoned with. I also love that he heeds the advice of his brothers and lets her fight her own battles sometimes. She really doesn't pull any punches and does a good job of asserting her position in the club. At the end of it all, I'm so happy we got this bonus addition for Rocket and Lemon. It's not often that we get a second book for a couple, but I'm so glad we did. Prior reading is recommended. (Book review, 1/2) Unity and Family This is over-the-top, instalove told in a dark setting. I really like this book, even though it hits some of my personal triggers. There is A LOT packed into this novella, including the introduction to this new series that crosses over with several of Harley's other series. Meiling "Mei" Shan Young has had it ROUGH. As in you-seriously-need-to-consider-your-triggers-when-you-read-this rough. The details of her abuse as a child and barely adult aren't specified, but those shared are stomach turning. Jameson "Dingo" Withers is a protective alpha who asserts himself quite handsomely into Mei's life. (Translation: forcefully but in a good way.) He doesn't always see rain, but it's obvious that he quickly develops a soft spot for her. "Did my wife sleep well?" Yeah, this would be a fun conversation. -- Dingo, the newly minted husband to his "wife" who had fallen asleep as only a guest in his home. Oops.

(Book review, 2/2) Even with all the darkness and seriously messed-uppedness (it's a word now; you're welcome), there are some really sweet and bright spots. They don't overshadow the darkness, but they do bring hope and light to everything. One of those bright spots is found and blood family. The reunification of one family, and the creation of several others is quite something. I look forward to seeing how that all plays out as we go along. I received an author's copy of the audio book. I'd always had a weak spot for gingers, and he had to be the sexiest one I’d ever seen. -- Lavender Roberts I love the support offered by the "old ladies" and other MCs when times call for assistance. (Book review) Bucking the Secrets So... I really love the connected universe that Marteeka writes in, but not having read all of the Iron Tzars MC books, I was REALLY lost for the first couple of chapters, filling in as many gaps as possible. Once I caught up enough, I was able to get into and enjoy it. There's still more to figure out, but I have enough sorted to move forward. "Touch my man again, and I'll bury you somewhere neither Google nor Siri will know where the fuck you are." -- Lemon Lemon... OMG! 🤣🤣🤣 (three rolling on the floor laughing emojis) This woman had me in stitches! Think of a force to be reckoned with and amplify it by 100. Holy cow! Neither Rocket nor the other members of Grim Road know what to make of her. She's is fierce... and some. I love that she claims Rocket and he just sits back and lets it all happen. It's quite the show. (And I can't stop laughing.) There are some awful things that occur, but she really stole the show and set several things to rights. Going Out with a Bang This one didn't hook me as much as I anticipated. Glitter is interesting, and I love her attitude about her job. Stryker is alpha, ridiculous, and unintentionally funny, at least to me. The chemistry between them is a mixed bag, especially when they fight it. I can't. Rather, I won't deny that the dances she performs for him are off-the- charts steamy. I definitely love them. That last one should be immortalized. 🌶🥵🔥❤️👀🫦💦💥 Honestly, I rounded my rating up simply for that scene. There were parts related to Butcher and The Dark that could've been fleshed out a little better. Still, I do like how that all concluded. There are crossovers from other series, which I always love. In the first book of the series, Spider, we were introduced to Violeta Gomez and her sisters and some of the horrors they endured while in their father's care. While those events are referenced, they aren't revisited. Instead something equally bad rears its ugly head. This is your warning to check your triggers. He may have been manipulated a smidgen, but I love how Jesse "Rocket" Jones finally gets his act in gear even if things go off the rails. Heck, he goes off the rails a couple of times. Even so, I do like him, her, and their battered and bruised but never broken story. This is far from a rainbows and unicorn ending, but it's befitting them.
