In news that surprises no one, United is no longer covering the antidepressant that has kept me stable and improving for a year. #unitedhealthinsurance #insuranceinamerica

My sister just returned from physical therapy. Her clinic will no longer take #UnitedHealthInsurance.

She needed #PT after chemotherapy. As a teacher, her union negotiates her insurance.

#UnitedHealth is turning out to be worthless. 😡

Why the public's anger at a health care CEO's death speaks volumes The outrage over social media reactions to a health care CEO's death highlights public frustration with systemic injustices and failures in the U.S. health care system.

My 2 cents worth in KevinMD :)

Americans file over 3 billion health insurance claims per year. United Healthcare covers approximately 60 million Americans (18%) as of 2024 between Medicare Advantage and commercial policies.

We can therefore deduce that United Healthcare receives about 540 million claims annually. We know now that it denies 32% of claims or about 173 million claims per year. If even 0.1% of those result in death, that’s 173,000 deaths per year.

United Healthcare had an EBITDA of $32.5 billion in 2023. So, it made just under $188,000 per person it killed.

EDIT - Brian Thompson made $10.2 million in 2023. $1 million was salary. The rest was performance based. He earned a bonus of $53 per death.

I’ve been looking for a breakdown in quantifiable deaths regarding United Health Insurance. Any challenges here? #deathpanels #unitedhealthinsurance #ceo www.reddit.com/r/MurderedBy...

Since the rest of us are again reminded that killing people is wrong & should never be the answer to anything, hopefully these CEOs & boards of health insurance companies will learn that too. #unitedhealthinsurance

One day, a case will set the precedence that by allowing a person to perish when there are available treatments to sustain their lives but was denied because of a companies policy, will be Manslaughter. Aren’t corporations People already ? #unitedhealthinsurance #americanhealthcare #antitrust
