A poorly framed selfie of Kujo and me. We laid together on the floor at the vet for hours after they told me he wouldn't make it through the night. I had come to him by accident via my brother shortly after my dad passed. Kujo had been with me through so much two cross-country road trips, a cross-country move, a couple of really shitty narcissistic men, two knee surgeries, and a load of other things. He was right next to me all the time, we went everywhere together even work. I've found that often, people don't talk about the intricacies of death, all of the unseen that occurs between the death and the moment someone tells you about it. This is one of those moments; it's bittersweet, imperfect, beautiful, and sad. He was comfy, though. I had brought his bed along for the ride to the vet, and we brought it into the room with us. Ooof, I love him so much, and as soon as I saw this tag, I remembered this photo. I can't help but think that moments like this would be easier if we talked about them more. Here's to all those hard, unseen moments you had to go through and will have to go through alone. Kujo's got your back and mine. Hugs.
