"The writing is exceptional. Unsinkable Cayenne, told in free verse, flows through the days of Cayenne's days at school and thinking about her life." A giant thank you to Helen for this lovely review! #UnsinkableCayenne

One last photo showing the inspiration behind #UnsinkableCayenne; when Cayenne's family finally settles down, she dreams of a "normal" life--her first hint that things might not go as planned comes when she realizes her family has moved into a house without any bedroom doors. #kidlit

In all of the research I did about the Titanic to write Unsinkable Cayenne, this quote has always stood out to me. It's from Titanic survivor Eva Hart (who was a child when the boat sank), and it inspired one of the poems in my novel (out Tuesday!) #kidlit #Titanic #UnsinkableCayenne
