Senior civil servants knew weeks ago that Mandelson had failed security vetting The Foreign Office's chief civil servant Sir Olly Robbins was sacked on Thursday night after Sir Keir Starmer and foreign secretary Yvette Cooper lost confidence in him over the scandal.

Civil servants "didn't pass on Mandelson information to the prime minister because they were waiting for legal checks on what information could be released" but apparently Starmer, a lawyer, didn't know about legal checks. #ItStinks #UselessStarmer #Liar #StarmerOut
